Evolve opens Chennai solar centre with Jonty Rhodes

Evolve Energy Group has opened an Evolve Solar Xperience Centre in Chennai, with the launch led by Brand Ambassador Jonty Rhodes.

The centre focuses on residential rooftop solar and is designed to give homeowners a single provider for equipment, installation and after-sales service. Evolve said this replaces a more fragmented approach in which customers buy components from different vendors and arrange installation and support separately.

The Chennai site also marked the unveiling of the group's new brand identity at an event attended by hundreds of customers. According to the company, the centre offers homeowners transparent pricing, direct warranty support and a single point of contact throughout the process.

Single provider

Under Evolve's model, the process begins with an assessment of household electricity bills and energy needs. Engineers then carry out a rooftop evaluation and system design, after which the customer receives a proposal covering equipment, installation scope, applicable subsidies and pricing.

Evolve said it handles equipment supply and installation, as well as support for approvals such as subsidy applications, net-metering and distribution company clearances. It also manages testing and commissioning, followed by warranty support, system monitoring, maintenance and service.

The approach reflects a broader effort by solar providers to simplify adoption in the residential market, where customers often face a complex chain of suppliers, installers and service providers. By consolidating those steps, Evolve aims to make the purchase and ownership process easier for households considering rooftop systems.

India's residential rooftop solar sector has drawn increasing attention as households look for ways to manage electricity bills and as government incentives support adoption. In this market, after-sales support and clear accountability have become important selling points alongside panel and inverter choice.

Residential push

Founded in 2011, Evolve Energy Group is headquartered in Chennai. It serves residential, commercial and industrial customers across more than 15 states in India and employs more than 350 professionals, according to the company.

Its operations span manufacturing, project execution, renewable energy asset ownership and maintenance. In the residential segment, Evolve Green Homes has installed more than 3 MW of rooftop solar capacity for more than 1,500 homeowners, the company said.

The Chennai centre gives the group a physical location to present its residential offering in one place. Customers can review the full process, from initial consultation to installation and ongoing service, without dealing with multiple counterparties.
